Dry Needling
What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a modern treatment designed to ease muscular pain. During dry needling, a practitioner inserts thin needles into trigger points — tight bands of muscle that are tender when pressed. The needles stimulate the tissue, which can help relieve pain and improve range of motion.
Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling targets the musculoskeletal and nervous systems based on modern Western medicine principles.
How It Works
By inserting thin needles into myofascial trigger points, dry needling can help release tight muscle bands, reduce local and referred pain, and improve blood flow to the affected area.
Our practitioners combine dry needling with other treatment modalities including physical therapy and neuro-acupuncture for comprehensive care.
